"I went on praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people, pleading with the Lord my God for Jerusalem, his holy mountain. As I was praying, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision, came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice. He explained to me, “Daniel, I have come here to give you insight and understanding. The moment you began praying, a command was given. And now I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God. Listen carefully so that you can understand the meaning of your vision."
Daniel 9:20-23
Say this aloud with me. "The moment I begin praying, a command is given."
Prayer is powerful beyond our wildest imaginations. If we could see a vision of our past and our future without prayer, and then a vision of our past and our future with prayer, we would fall on our faces and cry out to God like never before.
Please read the entire prayer in Daniel 9.
Daniel started by proclaiming God's awesomeness. And then plunged straight into repentance. And then He presented His requests.
Just do it. Do it over and over. Every day. Throughout the day. As often as you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders.
God honors honesty and heartfelt repentance. He wants to hear every detail of our struggles.
As Daniel was crying out to God, Gabriel showed up. Swiftly.
"Daniel, I have come here to give you insight and understanding. The moment you began praying, a command was given. And now I am here to tell you what is , for you are very precious to God. Listen carefully so that you can understand the meaning of your vision."
I'm telling you. Cry out to God. He wants to give you insight and understanding.
The MOMENT. The MOMENT you began praying, action is happening in heaven. You are precious to God. Listen carefully, He wants to give you understanding.
There is nothing. Nothing more important than prayer. Relationship with the One who considers you precious.
I remember the day I decided to get serious with God regarding my wayward son. I started praying hard. I prayed scripture cards, inserting his name, every morning. I prayed faith prayers instead of hand-wringing, worried prayers. I stood on the Word of God, knowing that His promises never fail. I fasted two or three days every week. Every time my heart hurt and every time fear struck me, I instantly turned it around to faith filled prayer. Throughout every day and throughout the night, I was shooting up prayers. Wordless prayers, whispered prayers, and loud prayers, depending on my circumstances at any given moment.
After two and a half years of prayer and fasting, God spoke to me one day.
He said, "This week at church camp, Dayn is coming back to Me, and then he will be moving back home."
And it happened. Just like He said.
"But now, this is what the Lord says – he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:1-2

"Jesus, please continue to open our eyes to everything that genuine, heartfelt prayer will do for us and through us. If we will only simply do it. You love us with an everlasting love. You are waiting with all our answers. Lift up our faces to gaze at You. Our only Hope. I pray this in Your name, Jesus. I love You, AMEN."
This gave me an extra lift this morning. I remember your prayers for your son and I saw that prayer answered so I know I received this word today because God is letting me know not to give up, keep praying, keep fasting, and keep believing
