Such a Time as This

"Mordecai told him the whole story, including the exact amount of money Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews. Mordecai gave Hathach a copy of the decree issued in Susa that called for the death of all Jews. He asked Hathach to show it to Esther and explain the situation to her. He also asked Hathach to direct her to go to the king to beg for mercy and plead for her people. So Hathach returned to Esther with Mordecai’s message.
Then Esther told Hathach to go back and relay this message to Mordecai: “All the king’s officials and even the people in the provinces know that anyone who appears before the king in his inner court without being invited is doomed to die unless the king holds out his gold scepter. And the king has not called for me to come to him for thirty days.” So Hathach gave Esther’s message to Mordecai.
Mordecai sent this reply to Esther: “Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: “Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.” So Mordecai went away and did everything as Esther had ordered him."  Esther 4:7-17
Who are you? What is your purpose on earth?
Maybe you don't exactly know your purpose on earth. Start by doing what you know to do. Chat with God every morning. Read a daily Bible plan. There are so many options. Choose one and stick with the plan. If you fall behind, either continue reading the days you've missed, or skip ahead to the current date. Ask God what He wants to say to you through His word each day, and write down your thoughts.
I like to compare my spiritual health to physical and mental health. Eating healthy, physical activity, and even flossing and brushing my teeth promote good physical health.

If I go to the dentist and find out that I have a cavity, do I become discouraged, and stop brushing and flossing? No. I simply continue the small daily discipline for the health of my teeth.

Replacing negative thoughts with positive truths promote good mental health.
Small disciplines develop spiritual, mental and physical health.
Esther's life had been difficult. She had lost both of her parents. But she was chosen by God to deliver the Jewish nation from genocide.
You are called and chosen by God for "such a time as this".
I can't emphasize this truth enough.
Repeat after me.
"I am called and chosen by God for such a time as this."
My eyes are filling with tears.
I am Facebook friends with a beautiful young woman who ministers to families who are in slavery at the dust bricks kilns in Faisalabad, Pakistan. The labor is intense. The weather is hot and working at a kiln is hotter. Their children don't have shoes to protect their feet. They don't have food or water provided to them. There are many orphan children as well.
My friend and her family are called and chosen to minister to these precious souls.
God is calling You. He is calling me. For such a time as this.
"God. Use me. I want to be Your hands and feet. I want to lift my eyes above the "cares of life" and look to You for direction. Where You lead, I will follow. I want to be Your servant. I have been called and chosen for such a time as this. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN."

Gatekeeper

"In all, there were 212 gatekeepers in those days, and they were listed according to the genealogies in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed their ancestors because they were reliable men. These gatekeepers and their descendants, by their divisions, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the house of the Lord when that house was a tent. The gatekeepers were stationed on all four sides—east, west, north, and south. Their relatives in the villages came regularly to share their duties for seven-day periods. The four chief gatekeepers, all Levites, were trusted officials, for they were responsible for the rooms and treasuries at the house of God. They would spend the night around the house of God, since it was their duty to guard it and to open the gates every morning. Some of the gatekeepers were assigned to care for the various articles used in worship. They checked them in and out to avoid any loss. Others were responsible for the furnishings, the items in...

Odd Duck

"He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son." John 1:10-14 Are you an odd duck? Jesus was the Perfect Example of an odd duck. He was God and man. In the same body. How odd is that? He came into the world he created. Huh? The very world He created didn't recognize Him. His own people rejected him. Ever felt rejected by everyone, even your own family? You are not alone. Instead of walking around in the shame of being an odd duck, just know that you are in Good Company. Jesus was part of the Master Plan. His own Master...

Equal Opportunity

"There was a man named Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee. After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus. “Rabbi,” he said, “we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.” Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” “How are these things possible?” Nicodemus asked. Jesus replied, “You are a respect...
