Facedown

"Then the man brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple. I looked and saw the glory of the Lord filling the temple of the Lord, and I fell facedown." Ezekiel 44:4

Facedown seems to be my current word.

I have been literally lying facedown as I pray.

I had an experience many years ago here in Billings, Montana. I believe we were having our weekly Saturday night prayer meeting. I was walking around crying out to God in desperation. I honestly don't remember what I was praying about. I started to feel the glory of God like never before or since that moment. It felt like a heavy blanket, causing me to fall to the floor. I could barely move... I could barely get words out of my mouth... I felt as if I was literally in Heaven, worshiping at His feet. I could barely utter, "Holy, holy holy."

Jesus fell facedown in one of His lowest moments.

"Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39
The leper fell facedown at Jesus' feet.

"While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Luke 5:12

Today I am being called to simply fall, facedown, at His feet, forgetting about my long list of prayer requests. 

Even though I'm temporarily stuck on earth, my real life will begin soon when I meet Him face to face in all of His glory.

"They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads." Rev. 22:4

"Thank You, dear Jesus for Your never changing, everlasting Word. Thank you for the opportunity to fall, facedown, and worship in Your glorious presence. How I love You!"

    I still remember a rally service in Billings when I was 12 or 13. My most impacting repentance was face down on the left side of the steps to the platform in the little church at the base of the bluff. God is so good!!!
    This also brings to mind the dedication of the Tabernacle and the Temple, when the Glory of the Lord came down and all work/ministry was halted to make room for HIM!

Joy
