Empowered

"Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.
The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’”
The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’”
The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you carefully;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”
Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.
Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him."  Luke 4:1-15

When the devil or one of his evil spirits attack your mind with a bunch of garbage, shut him down with the truth of God's word.

Here is an extreme example.

"You are no good and worthless."

Replace this lie with truth.

"So God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them."  Genesis 1:27

"See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands."  Isaiah 49:16

Here's another example.

"This task is impossible."

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  Philippians 4:13

I can give you endless examples.

Every single lie that creeps into your mind can be replaced with the truth of God's word.

In the above passage, Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Ask Him, out loud, to empower you with the Holy Spirit. Practice this throught the day. Especially when you are feeling overwhelmed, and you find yourself listening to the lies of the enemy.

"Thank you, Jesus for Your specific word given to me today. Quicken my mind with the truths of Your Word. Empower me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You ahead of time. In Your name I pray, AMEN"

Gatekeeper

"In all, there were 212 gatekeepers in those days, and they were listed according to the genealogies in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed their ancestors because they were reliable men. These gatekeepers and their descendants, by their divisions, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the house of the Lord when that house was a tent. The gatekeepers were stationed on all four sides—east, west, north, and south. Their relatives in the villages came regularly to share their duties for seven-day periods. The four chief gatekeepers, all Levites, were trusted officials, for they were responsible for the rooms and treasuries at the house of God. They would spend the night around the house of God, since it was their duty to guard it and to open the gates every morning. Some of the gatekeepers were assigned to care for the various articles used in worship. They checked them in and out to avoid any loss. Others were responsible for the furnishings, the items in...

Equal Opportunity

"There was a man named Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee. After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus. “Rabbi,” he said, “we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.” Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” “How are these things possible?” Nicodemus asked. Jesus replied, “You are a respect...

Joy

"And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!” Nehemiah 8:10 NLT The joy of the Lord is my strength. Sounds mysterious. But it's actually very straight forward. "For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!" 2 Corinthians 4:17 NLT Whether you are going through small irritations (car problems or a financial squeeze) or family crises (troubled marriage, wayward children), heavy challenges (fatal illness, hospital stays, crushing medical bills), the joy of the Lord is your strength.  The joy of the Lord isn't a feeling that pops up, unexpectedly, out of nowhere. The joy of the Lord is a choice.  I have been planning to set aside one day a week, Mondays...
